rice
when i put the rice into the pot i also placed twice the amount of water into the pot like andy said. i cooked the rice and watched it cooked. every single piece of the rice expanded. it seems like it absorbed the water in and expanded from the moisture. it seems like the seeds didn't pop like popcorn or moved or even cooked because it only got bigger from just sitting there. the rice soon plumped up and steamed like a hotdog. the hard shell became soft and fluffy gotten bigger. this seemed like the insides of the rice just broke out of the shell and we were eating the "meat" of the rice.
